Career coaching

Tailor-made career coaching sessions in the Bristol area with accredited coach Jan Castle

  • Are you unfulfilled in your current job or career?
  • Do you feel like a round peg in a square hole?
  • Would you like to use your skills and experience to better effect?

Recent research by LearnDirect Careers Advice shows that nearly a third of British workers are unhappy at work. And the main reason for their dissatisfaction is being in a ‘dead end’ job through a lack of career progression and challenges.

Are you one of these people? Or do you simply want to find work that fits you better, a career that allows you to use your talents and show your true colours?

One-to-one career coaching gives you the space, support and expertise to move towards the work you want. In your coach you have an objective collaborator to help you review your skills, clarify what you want, and explore your options. You have the satisfaction of knowing that you are truly working on your goals, and gain the confidence to make the transition to a new and rewarding career.

In the coaching sessions we will explore what you need to make an informed choice for your next career step. This may involve exploring your likes and dislikes, values, skills and needs in addition to what would truly fulfil you. We may generate new options or update your CV and I can also recommend specialist people to help you with particular aspects of finding the work you want.

I am also now offering ‘Individual Directions Inventory’ assessments; IDI is a powerful tool that helps you identify what truly motivates you, so that you can make your career decisions according to what will bring you real satisfaction. Over the weeks of one-to-one coaching you will gain insights, make decisions and plan your transition to a more rewarding career. Many people find it particularly helpful to have a structure and support to the process. For example, I recently received this e-mail from a client:
“Hi Jan, Thanks very much for today’s session. I’m feeling much better now. I’ve got a clear plan of action that will keep me busy for quite a few days. I’m finding this career transition very difficult and your ability to steer me back on track is invaluable.”

I offer coaching sessions by phone or face-to-face in the Bristol area. If you would like to know more, please get in touch by phone or e-mail for an informal chat or to book a free initial consultation.

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it.”
