Qualifications / experience
I am a fully qualified coach and hold a professional diploma from Coaching Development Ltd in London. The diploma took 18 months to complete, and included 20 days of live training and many hours of observed coaching practice. It included studies in Transactional Analysis and the Coactive coaching model. I have also trained in Solution-Focused Coaching, Non-Violent Communication and NLP.
I am accredited by the ICF (International Coach Federation), a global leader in coaching standards, as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). For this it was necessary to complete 125 hours of coach training and 750 hours of coaching experience, as well as passing an oral and written examination and engaging in ongoing professional development. In 2009 I am one of only 74 such coaches in the UK. My next step will be to achieve my Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential for which I need to accrue a total of 2500 hours of coaching experience (watch this space…).
With more than 1200 hours of experience gained since 2001, I have coached my clients on a huge range of personal and professional topics. I have worked with a total of 200+ people, including both private and corporate clients. Many people have worked on career transitions or regaining a sense of purpose, and issues of confidence and self-esteem are never far away. I have helped self employed people and the leaders of SMEs regain their vision for their businesses and take practical steps to build for the future. I have coached middle and senior managers in a corporate setting on a range of strategic and soft topics, specialising in communication and confidence issues. I have also facilitated groups and coached individuals through the process of redundancy.
Corporate and business clients include NHS, BUPA, Connexions, Penny Brohn Cancer Care and The Soil Association.
I am familiar with the commercial pressures of both small and large organisations from my time in the BBC and many small companies. I understand the conflicting need to juggle tight schedules and budgets yet maximise creativity, to hold the big picture and the detail, to manage and co-ordinate teams and clients — whilst never losing sight of essential values. I have run my own businesses and been self employed for 12 years. I understand the thrills and challenges of running small businesses.
My coaching is confidential, fully insured, supervised and respects the ICF code of ethics.
