Qualifications / experience
I am a fully qualified coach and hold a professional diploma from Coaching Development Ltd in London. The diploma took 18 months to complete, and included 20 days of live training and many hours of observed coaching practice. It included studies in Transactional Analysis and the Coactive coaching model. I have also trained in Solution-Focused Coaching, Non-Violent Communication and NLP.
I am accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), a global leader in coaching standards, as a PCC (Professional Certified Coach). For this it was necessary to complete 750 hours of coaching experience and 125 hours of coach training, as well as passing an oral and written examination. I am one of only 50 such coaches in the UK.
Coaching since 2001, I have gained around 800 hours of experience coaching a variety of different clients on a wide range of topics. I have coached private clients on personal and professional issues, particularly career transitions and regaining a sense of purpose. I have helped self employed people and sole traders regain their vision for their businesses and take practical steps to building for the future. I have coached middle and senior managers in a corporate setting on a range of strategic and soft topics, specialising in communication and confidence issues.
I am familiar with the commercial pressures of both small and large organisations from my time in the BBC and many small companies. I understand the conflicting need to juggle tight schedules and budgets yet maximise creativity, to hold the big picture and the detail, to manage and co-ordinate teams and clients — whilst never losing sight of essential values. I have run my own businesses and been self employed for 12 years. I understand the thrills and challenges of running small businesses.
My coaching is confidential, fully insured, supervised and respects the ICF code of ethics.
